# RMS — Retail Management System

> RMS — Retail Management System is offline point of sale (POS) and shop management software for independent shops anywhere in the world. It runs on the shop's own computer and works without internet. RMS sets itself up for 12 kinds of shop: oil change, tyre shop, auto workshop, car wash, spare parts, bike shop, general store (grocery), departmental store, clothing, mobile & electronics, hardware and other retail.

Selling, printing, reports, backups and licence activation all work without internet. The shop's records stay on its own computer. Internet is needed once, at setup, to register the business.
RMS prints tax invoices with your own tax name (VAT, GST or sales tax), rate and registration numbers, but it is not connected to any government e-invoicing or fiscal reporting system. Businesses that must report each sale to a tax authority in real time need a certified system.
